讲座摘要：
PROJECT 1- STORIES THROUGH MEMORIES – multilingual media project sharing stories through the memories of elderly people from Northern Sarawak and Brunei Darussalam, Borneo (Dec 1941 - June 1945).
PROJECT 2- MEMORADIC NARRATIVE - Interactive online navigation Memoradic Narrative, interactive architecture design and creation, incorporating: The Shoebox, Compatible with Flash Player 9+ Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer. With an innovative use of interactive digital documentary, The Shoebox examines the fragility of memory and our responses to personal tragedy and how these impacts the construction of our personal and family histories. The Shoebox explores memory and narrative from a past of loss and absence using a unique interactive architecture that mimics the process of autobiographical memory recall, memoradic narrative.
Dr Janet Elizabeth Marles简介: Dr. Janet Marles is Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at James Cook University, Australia. She has wide experience in research and teaching in the disciplines of Digital Media, Film Studies, Photography and Communications. She gained her Ph.D. and First Class Honours Degrees in Interactive Digital Media from Griffith University, Australia.
Janet has worked as an Administrator and Academic at Griffith University; the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS); and as Senior Lecturer in Radio and Television Broadcasting at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates. From 2011 until 2014 she was Leader of the Creative Industries Research Cluster and Programme Leader of Professional Communication and Media in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
In Brunei Darussalam she continues collaborating as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer on creative industries projects as well as practicebased research projects including "Kisah-Kisah Dalam Kenangan/Stories through Memories" an interactive multi-media work sharing stories through the memories of survivors who witnessed the tumultuous events of WWII in Borneo (Dec 1941 - June 1945).
Janet’s research interests in interactive digital media production and theory stems from her extensive career as an editorial photographer, audiovisual producer and short-form filmmaker. She has produced documentaries, training videos and music clips and exhibited her photography in 4 solo exhibitions (Australia, UK) and 14 group exhibitions (Australia, UK, Japan, China, Brunei). Her photography has been selected by Kodak Worldwide Photo Salon and by Nikon calendar.
